Biographical
General (political statement of goals, objectives, views, philosophies)

I believe that most politicians no longer respect & obey our constitution. but rather seek office to gain power & advance their own agenda. We need to elect true statesmen who put the liberties of all Americans as top priority. We need to get rid of the federal reserve system, who by printing billions of worthless paper dollors, have caused inflation that has wiped out the savings of many americans, & has forced famlies to seek 2 incomes to make ends meet. If we would have retained gold & silver as money, we would not have inflation!! The welfare system & the Indian reservations have ruined the work ethic of those caught up in its clutches & will bankrupt our beloved country. This is the result of "humanism" who is the god that has replaced the true God that was kicked out of America 40 years ago. We are now reaping the dire consequences of that decision. Government geneally cause more problems than solutions. The public education system & the news media has brainwashed our children to believe that we need to depend on the government to solve all our problems, rather than look to God for help.

Personal (gender, age, marital status, spouse's name and age, children's name and ages, home town, current residence)

I am a 57 year old male who has been married to my wife Lila for 23 yrs. We were unable to have any children, & because of all the babies killed by abortion, we could not find any babies to adopt. I have lived in Mobridge for 23 years.

Education (times and places of schools, colleges, major, degrees, activities, sports)

I graduated from Eastern Mennonite High school in Harrisonburg VA in 1967. I want to Bible college in Rosedale , Ohio in 1075

Profession (professional and work experience outside politics)

I have been a carpenter all my life. I made church furniture for 3 years. When I learned all they could teach me, I decided that the more practical use of my skills would be to help people have a better place to live, so I went to Albu. N. Mexico to remodel poor peoples houses. I learned how to completely remodel houses for $3 a squaer ft. which no one else has been able to match.

Military (branch, years of service, active duty experience, highest rank, medals, honors, type and date of discharge)

Rather than go in the military, whose purpose is to kill people, I worked in a childrens hospital, whose aim is to help people {children}

Civic (past and present organizations, charities involvement)

Am involved in recycling efforts as a way to make better use of the resources that God has given us.

Political (dates and titles of previously held political offices)

I ran for city council oncs before.

Religion (current and past religious affiliations, beliefs)

I am a Mennonite, who believes that by having inner peace with God & jesus Christ, that will reflectin a life style that will enable me to live at peace with my neighbore & society in the midst of turmoil. By having a personal relationship with Christ, that will allow me the knowledge to deal with any problems that I will ever come up against.

Accomplishments (significant accomplishments, awards, achievements)

I believe it is egoticial to brag about my accomplishments. I would rather you hear about them from other people.

Reasons & Objectives
Why I Am Running for Public Office

I felt that the voters needed a chance to vote for a candidate that is concerned to protect your liberties. Also to break the stranglehold of the 2 major parties.[Source: Submitted by Wayne E. Schmidt 10/11/2006 9:15:40 AM]

Right to Life, a General Statement

Life beging when the heart & brain start functioning, since we know that death comes when the heart & brain quit working. So since our laws protect innocent life, a baby that has a functioning heart & brain, must be protected also.

Afro Americans
Afro-Americans, a General Statement

even though slavery is wrong, we should not have to keep paying for the sins of our fathers. Affirmative action does not fix the problem, it just keeps perpetuating it. It is still prejudice. Race should not be a factor in any decision.

Agriculture
South Dakota Farm Subsidies

I believe that farmers know hoe to farm better than the government does. If the government would get out of the way , I believe that the free enterprise system would kick in & the market would decide the prices for their crops. The law of supply & demand would then dictate what crops the farmers would raise.

Civil Rights
Anti-Semitism

They should not be persecuted because of race, but since they control the banking system, they should be held accountable for destroying our money system with worthless paper money.

National Security Agency (NSA) Electronic Surveillance of US Citizens

This is completely unconstitutional

South Dakota Civil Rights and Liberties, a General Statement

we have already lost most of the civil rights our founding fathers fought to give us. We have so many regulations, that we have hardly any choices left. Blacks should not be given preferential treatment more than any other race. Since our country was founded by Christians, they should be preferred, but any other religion should not be persecuted.

Courts
South Dakota Courts, a General Statement

As a complete public edication, students need to be taughty hoe to "navigate" the court system. When thye common citizens are ignorant how the court system works, that leaves all of us vunerable to be manipulated by the courts. Also, the rights of the jury must not be abridged, & the jury must be told of all their rights. Any person sued must be provided a booklet paid by the plaintiff that spells out how the courts work with schedules & filing deadlines, & copies of forms that must be filled, so they don't have to hire a lawyer just to find out what must be done about court procedures.

Even though I believe that hating someone is sin, a crime must involve an action, so it is unlawful to punish someone until they commit an act against a person or property.

Capital Punishment in South Dakota

I believe that the dath penalty should be required for murder, rape & other violent crimes, but that DNA testing needs to be done to prove guilt.

South Dakota Child Abuse And Neglect

When social workers find out about these, they already put them in foster care, but they need to leave them there until the parents prove they are able to properly take care of them.

Environment
South Dakota Recycling and Trash

We need to promote more recycling as we waste too many things that could be reused. Anyone who wants to recycle things out of our landfills should be encouraged to do that, rather than harass them for wanting to do so.

South Dakota Budget

We need to eliminte all spending for unconstitutional programs. Also , automatic increases each year must be stopped. It is not always necessary to spend more money each year. Agencies must be given incentives to cut spending rather than incentives to increase or waste spending

South Dakota Fiscal Policy, a General Statement

We must be reminded that we are spending other peoples money & are accountable for that.

Food
Food, a General Statement

The doctored up & processed foods that are on the grocery shelves today are vastly inferior in nutrients than what we used to have. Artificial additives are never as good as the natural ingredients that God provided in the origional crop. White bleached flour is a good example of poor nutrition.

Government
South Dakota Campaign Contribution Limits

I believe the onlyfairway to fund campaigns,is for all contributions to go into a general fund set up for that campaign, & then the money disbursed equally to all candidates for that race. Contributions could only be designated for a race, not a candidate.

South Dakota State Government and Agencies, a General Statement

Government officials tend to waste taxpayers money since it is not their own money. It's easy to spend someone elses money. Also, agencies are functioning in areas where they have no constitutional authority to do so .

Marijuana
Marijuana, a General Statement

I believe that tobacco & marijuana are equally bad, & that the laws should be the same for both. I really believe that if the government could tax marijuana, that they would legalize it just to get the tax money.

Medical Insurance
Health Insurance, a General Statement

health insurance drives up the cost of health care as it is very tempting for health care providers to bill the insurance companies for all they can get. I have seen many "add-ons" on my own hospital bills. Also, the hospital has told me that government paper work adds about 25% to all their bills. Punitive lawsuit awards also skyrocket costs. This must be stopped!!!!

Native Americans
Native American Children

There are over 1,000 indian children rattling aroung on the reservations with out a permanent home as no one really wants them, they only want the money the children bring that is alloted them from the government. These children must be placed for adoption in permanent homes even if it means that the tribes will lose money. Some of these children are only 25% indian, & they are still forced to be pushed around on the reservation!!!!

Source: Submitted by Wayne E. Schmidt (10/11/2006)

Native Americans, a General Statement

I believe that the reservation system has ruined the Indians as that treats them like a lower class. The reservation governments are also more corrupt. We must immediately abolish the reservations, so the indians can live like normal americans.

Separation of Church and State

This is an erronious myth that should have never seen the light of day, as this was not the intent of our founders. They held church in the capitol rotunda, paid to have the Indians evangelized, paid to have Bibles printed, & said that candidated for office should profess a belief in Jesus Christ.

Evolution vs. Intelligent Design

It takes more faith to believe in evolution than in creation, as something as complex as the universe could have happened by chance. Evolution also goes against the law of thermodynamics as creation tends to deteriorate & run down, rather than get better.

Taxes
South Dakota Property Taxes

This tax is unconstitutional since it violates the 4th admendment, as we are not secure in our own homes. If you dont believe it, just try not paying your property tax & see if they dont kick you out of your own home. So really, you just pay rent to the government every year for your home.

I live on $6,000 a year, so it is possible to live on a lower income. That is made possible partly because property values are also less, since housing is normally a big part of everyones budget.
